Our History
First Legacy Community Credit Union, originally School Workers Federal Credit Union was founded February 14, 1941, in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a group of educators in the Charlotte School System. Mr. J.E. Grigsby served as the treasurer for the group. From our humble beginnings, we offered a simple savings and loan program. Today, we offer a broad range of financial services.
The credit union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and operated by its members, offers the following advantages:
* Return of profits, in the form of quarterly dividends, to its members
* Lower interest rates on loans
* Quick and efficient service
This credit union continues to operate on its original theme:
